Page 7..... "six different ways" Russell and Shaun want to hear what you really think! E-mail us at whim@diceman.co.uk Dear Russell and Shaun, What a great show! Its like no other travel show. I have even strated to roll the dice on my own adventures with my wife. I am in a University in Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S.A. and just when I told all my friends to watch, the show was ripped from the air. Please e-mail me if I can help get the show back. Thanks Again, Bill Onisick P.S. I often travel to Charleton, S.C. and it made my day when I saw the laundry mat where you washed up at in Georgetown, S.C. Hello Russell and Shaun, What can I say that has not already been said about your program, sheer BRILLIANT!!! Your show must be good if it can stop my 5 year old son from watching Cartoon Network in the afternoon when he comes home from school when, both of us are seasoned viewers now, we have seen all 4 series now at least twice, although we have seen the programs many times they are not boring or stale, there is always something new you seem to find in the programl. It seem to me that Discovery Channel have got there priorities wrong, all they seem to think we want to watch is some boring american building a log cabin that would look out of place anywhere except the rockies or the swiss alps or two stupid blokes stripping old furniture, if you ask me they should strip those two of there programing time and kick them of the air and give you the time slot. Anyway I hope you manage to get the program back on the air either with the discovery channel or some other channel as long as you post the new channel on your website. Many thanks for a great show Jason & Connor Cheeseman, Kent, UK A great series that has you scanning the EPG (electronic programme guide for those in America) to catch the show. The problem is that I must have seen so many bits from all the series but not the series as a whole. I echo the sentiments of the series being released on video or for it to find its way onto terrestrial tele. Any plans for Canada, Niagra, Buffalo, New York areas. Plenty to see and do. Love to see them in or by the Falls. Thank you to all of you in front and behind the cameras and don't stop!!!! HI RUSS, Spotted the "Howard Marks" book whilst you were being filmed in a GARAGE somewere in the STATES. maybe you could do a new t.v show "WHERE TO FIND CIGGIE PAPERS IN REMOTE AREAS" ....................maybe not !!! SUPERB TELLY...keep it up !! Nick, Chester, UK The Travel Channel states that they do not have any plans to reair the Diceman show at this time. Is the Diceman on video? Is there another channel the Diceman might be playing on? Also, is my T-shirt on its way? I have a friend that lives outside of Leeds. I visited three years ago. I always enjoy visiting England. I just love the language. Thanks for corresponding. Darrin J. Hartman Russell, I am having "Diceman" withdrawal! I miss you guys! I hope all is well with you and Shaun. Say hi to Shaun for me and give him a BIG 'OL KISSY for me :) Here is a BIG 'OL Lynda I tried E-mailing viewer relations @ Discovery.com earlier this month regarding there canceling The Diceman program and as yet have received no reply. If there is anyone at this E-mail location they may be permanently "out to lunch". Other attempts I have made to reach anyone at the Discovery/Travel channel have met with similar non-responses. I like the suggestion in the Fan Page about making your previous (and hopefully future) shows available on video tape. Hope to see you guys again soon!!!!! Jim Molnar, USA Gotta have Diceman back!!!! Why on earth would Travel Channel drop the best show in it's lineup?! Like so many others, I've just gotta have my Diceman!!! Kelly Hampton, USA Diceman, How are things coming along? I miss your show on the travel channel. Now they have this worlds greatest spa's show on instead. If it were up to my dice that show would be cancelled. I hope everything is working out for you. Adam M. Beecham, USA Hello! Just to say that I watch the Diceman whenever I can and you both impress my whole family. You are so interesting to watch as you seem to be people I've known all my life. Its as if you are part of the family. Wish I could do something like you do. There must be alot of work but you must love it too. The only thing that I could say is that I wish your program lasted an hour or more!! I wish you all the best, and thanks for being ace entertainers and people that show there is more to life. Kindest regards James, UK Thanks for a great show Russell- The Diceman was a brilliant idea. Regards Marcus Sorour, Pretoria,South Africa Ladies & Gentlemen, Please take a moment to respond to this rabid fan of Russell and Shaun here in Houston, TX.USA. The Travel Channel had you guys on at 10AM and !2Noon every weekday and suddenly a month ago the program was taken off the air. I have e-mailed the Discovery channel but have not received a response from them to date.I am hoping that you might be able to shed some light on as to why it was taken off and whether or not there are plans to run the Series III and IV episodes again. Additionally are there any plans to run the Series I and II episodes? I have not seen any of these at all. Also, what are your plans for the future of the Diceman series? Is it really dead? I hope not because it was one of the programs really worth watching. What are Russell and Shaun's plans for the future? What are they doing now? I sure would love to see them again in anything that they do. Please take a moment to respond to any of these questions and give this loyal fan some hope. The future without the Diceman does not hold much joy. Eric W. Firkowski, C.P.M. Hi Russell, Thanks for all the T.V series's , I've just been watching the U.S.A one and its spot-on. We (wife, kids and my self) are off to Florida soon so it was handy to see what we are letting ourselves in for.Whats the chance of getting your autographe for the wife (she thinks you look like me) it would be a big boost for her as we have only just moved to Ireland from the UK and she is finding it hard to settle in. If you could do this i would be very greatfull. Alan Morris, Ireland Hello. I'm writing to say that I love the show. It's one of the best shows on television and is full of interesting places and people. I think that Russell and Shaun do a really good show and I really enjoy watching it!!! At the moment I have been watching DICEMAN USA and that is brilliant! All the best... Stuart Nuttall, UK Hello, I was shocked to see "The Diceman" is no longer part of The Travel Channel programming. I watch The Travel Channel from Acworth, Georgia, USA through Media One Cable Company. I love this show and want to see more episodes. I understand writing you may help their cause in returning to the air. So I am making my plea for you to allow the series to continue with new shows. I enjoy traveling with Russell and Shaun. They take me to places I've never visited and add spice to the visits as well. You never know where they will turn up next and what they will be doing. How many people can make selling items in a drive through convenience store or New York vending stand so thrilling?! They roll a die and never know what's going to happen until it stops. I beg you, please keep them on the air with new and exciting shows! THE WORLD NEEDS THE DICEMAN!!! Marcia E. Lewis Dear Russell and Shawn! first of all sorry for my English! I am from Russia and I opened your fabulous show only in january! But I am so impressed by it that I decided to travel as you in Russia in summer! And I would like to invite you to try make a show "Diceman in Russia"! I realize that there are still bad travel conditions in my country, but our people are so hospitable that you will forget all hardships! Welcome to Russia! Vitt, Russia Hey, what happened to the show?? I left to Las Vegas for 3 days and when I returned the show was off the air. There are still more countries to visit. Greg in San Diego, CA About 5 weeks ago I gave birth to my second daughter. Stuck at home and unwilling to watch soap operas, I found The Diceman one day during the lunchtime feeding and I was saved. Wife and girlfriend (?) not withstanding, Russell, Shaun, baby Annie and I had a steady 1:00 p.m. date. Between diapers, bottles and hoarse lullabies, it was my one link to the outside world (and how sad is that?) Then today, we settled in for our daily ritual and some stupid surfing guy was on the Travel Channel! What's up with that? The Diceman and I just met and now we've been torn apart? I think not. I'm sorry but this will never do. Reruns or not, I need my daily dose of Diceman. I'm currently experiencing serious withdrawal symptoms. I will be sending a letter to the Discovery Channel lobbying for The Diceman's return and I hope others will too. I don't know what I'll watch in the meantime, but it won't be that surfing dude. P.S. WHEN you guys get back on the air, see if the dice will take you to India. I REALLY want to go to India. Melanie Hello Russell and Shaun, Just wanted to tell you how much I look forward to your show every day and how sorry I am that it's no longer being aired on the Travel Channel. Your show is wonderfully realistic and enjoyable and reminds me of many a trip I've taken in my life. I only wish I'd thought of this "dice" thing a long time ago. It would have made vacations with my wife a lot less stressful. Maybe it's a good thing you're off the air for a while, I'm spending a lot of time on the couch in front of the television and I even catch myself humming your theme song while I'm at work. I'll continue following you two through your web pages. Good luck in the future. Brad and Linda Whalen, Cincinnati, OH USA Hello. I am e-mailing in order to find out if "The Diceman" episodes may be offered for sale as videos in the future. I have thoroughly enjoyed the show as I watched it over the last month and a half on the Travel Channel here in the USA. But, as I tuned in today, the show didn't appear and I have discovered that Travel Channel no longer has it listed in its program line-up! They kept repeating the same 8 or so episodes, also. As I know there are a wealth of "Diceman" episodes that I have not yet seen, I thought I'dwrite to ask about future videos offered for sale. Thank you! Julie Cook Hello, Just had to write to tell you how much I enjoy the "Diceman" shows. Well done ! It has a very comfortable feel for me. Russell is a man I think I could be friends with. Sad to note, as of today 3/27/00 it has been dropped from the Discovery / Travel Channel selection of programs ! I called to complain about it.... I will be waiting for "Diceman" to return to a channel I can receive here in Ohio. I will miss it ! Tom Dear Russell and Shaun, What the hell happened...? My family and I caught your show by accident channel surfing barely a month ago and we were instantly hooked.Your program was unique and it has been a true joy and our pleasure to follow you and Shaun on your travels . How sad this Monday when we switched on our Direct TV at the Diceman's regular time and realized that the show was no more. Is the Diceman on in other parts of the world or is the show gone forever? Is there any hope of it returning? It's hard to believe that the suits at Discovery Channel allow that freak-on-a-leash Alby to continue and some of the other lame shows and yet they sack you guys who had the best show and it probably would have gone through the roof had you been given the benefit of prime-time exposure. Ian (Wright) out to watch his back... For what it's worth Russell and Shaun, you created a wonderful show, you brought much fun and joy to many people around the world, and you will truly, truly be missed. Hopefully we will see you again... Best Wishes, Rene Martinez & Family Dear Russell and Shaun, Fantastic series even the second time around and I would even watch it again so have you thought of bringing out the series on video? What about a book on the series? No doubt at all that it would be a best seller! Is it really true that there will be no more diceman? just who are these suits who have the power to decide what we want to watch.? Where are the BBC or ITV? surely they can see what a fantastic series this is, made even better by you both. Please please please do not deprive your millions of fans of seeing you on our screens or in our countries. Keep on travelling Best Wishes, Karen Woodcock(Swansea. South Wales) Hi Russel & Shaun, I still can't believe that two such talented, gorgeous, funny and downright brill' blokes haven't yet been snapped up by a major television company. Primetime TV is crying out for a show as informative and enjoyable as yours. Have they not noticed the talent you guys have? Are they in touch with what viewers want? Let's hope that someone up in TV land realises that they are missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime by not signing you both up.Have they not seen your legs?!!!!!!!! Anyway enough of my gushing praise, time for a pint down the local. Take care and hope to see some new shows soon. Julie-dicefan-Taylor in Stockport xxxxxxxx Have seen many of your shows and love the sense of humour you carry. Loved the show from Louisiana. Back in the States...would love to have you as a guest...take a ride on the Ouachita River...or Bayous and maybe an ATV ride. Keep up the good work and keep rolling the dice. A fond viewer from Louisiana...Randy. My wife and I just saw the episode of the Diceman where you and Shaun went on the narrow gauge railway in Wales to the village of Portmerrion. What a GREAT show!!! What a great idea to be able to cast the die and follow where one's fate led. Keep up the good work! Bob and Laurie, Rosamond CA Hello, I'm doing something crazy this summer. I met someone on the internet and I'm going to Scotland to live with him for the summer!! I live in Wichita, Kansas and I will be spending the summer in Barcaldine, Scotland. I have been to Europe several times but I have never been to Scotland. Do you know the area? Do you have any helpful tips for my summer journey and stay? Any ideas would be appreciate. Also, I'm a teacher so I'm always looking for ideas that I can share with my students. If you know of any interesting sights around the area that would be of particular interest for me to see and share with my students I'm always open for that. Thanks so much -- Laurie, Peckham, UK Hello!!! I'm an avid "Diceman" watcher and I have a question. Have you thought about selling the series on videotape? I know several PBS series here in the U.S. have done so, such as "Mystery" and "National Geographic," and I was wondering if you were planning to do so as well. The Travel Channel here in the States are playing series III and IV, but not in order and all mixed together. Half the time my husband and I don't know if we'll be watching the guys in Texas or in Poland!!! Keep up the good work!! Vicky Brogan Just recently saw your show for the first time (sorry!)....! Anyway, I think it's awesome...and I'm hooked! You all need to do a segment here in Atlanta! Look me up! Hahahah! Take care! Eylmer HELLO FROM SUNNY CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.-----MY FAMILY AND I REALLY LOVE THE SHOW!!!--WE'LL DO OUR PART TO LET "THE POWERS THAT BE" KNOW HOW WE FEEL ABOUT YOUR GREAT SERIES!!!! EVERYBODY PLEASE PETITION THE DICOVERY/TRAVEL CHANNEL!!!!!!-----THANKS, ALL......... GEOFFREY F. WALTER, MODESTO,CA. U.S.A. Hi Janette/Russell Firstly, Carolyn and I really enjoy the show - concept, format and editing brilliant - don't change it. Secondly, having read through the fan comments, what is the story re further series of Diceman? Do you want it to continue? Are Discovery not commissioning further series? If you get time to reply I would be interested to hear. Mark and Carolyn Mark Larmour Principal Information Officer to the Office of the Deputy First Minister Northern Ireland Executive Government Dear Russell and Shaun, I have just recently "found" your show on the Travel Channel. While home ill for three days, my three children and I watched your show each day, and continue to watch as able. I have five year old twins and a two year old, and they watch as intensly as their father. I hope that the series will continue, and if not I look forward to future work from the both of you. Bob Smith Springboro, Ohio Say it isn't so. No more Diceman segments are being taped? All those trips from Texas to Manchester, to Sheffield, to Saddleworth...hoping to see Shaun once more...for old time's sake...Then I guess my trip to Manchester this May will be my last (a long, wistful, melancholy sigh). Flying won't be the same anymore. Now, when I look down from my plane, down to the places below where Shaun and I countered many a clandestine rendezvous...I'll know he has moved on to other adventures. Perhaps, just one more visit to Grantown-on-Spey, where the die took us for the last time...and Shaun may rest assured that I will never show our "special" video to anyone, even though everyone here at the nursing home is dying to see it. Oops, bad choice of words. Just a loyal fan, thanking you for a most innovative approach to a travel program. The segments passed quickly and I was always sorry to see them come to an end. It did, by the way, prompt travel to some places I'd never been before - inspired by the format of your program. It was easy, unpretentious, and without forced humor. One of your cousins in the colonies, Janis Lasser Dear Discovery Channel, I'm writing because I'm one of the many who love to watch the "Diceman" on the Travel Channel. I'm 23 years old and I'm getting ready to graduate from college in Michigan. Because I only have two classes left, I find myself with alot of time throughout the day. My days don't start till after I watch the Diceman at 11am and also 1pm. Even though I'm starting a new job soon in Southern California, I will definately be taping all of his shows while I'm at work. To be honest, I'm addicted to his show. I really feel that the Discovery Channel has something special here. I see the rest of the hosts on the Travel Channel as people who are lucky and have great jobs. They get paid to Travel the world. But with Russell, he is something special, he represents an ordinary person willing to take a risk and venture out and let fate rule is way. I'm sure there are many people who would love to venture out so freely like he does. Well, thanks to his show, I can vicariously. His show is truly entertaining and it opens up my eyes to see that there is so much out there to be discovered. However, I'm saddened to read over the internet that his show has been cancelled and only the reruns are left to watch. I'm sure the higher people at the Discovery Channel know what they are doing, but as a viewer, I think they are making a huge mistake. I'm only an engineer, not a marketing major. However, I feel that this show has a much larger potential if you showed it in the evening and not during the afternoon while most people are at work. Well, I have to go, the Diceman is on TV... Travel Channel Viewer, Kevin Southway Dear Russell and Shaun, I think your show is great and I watch you all the time on the Discovery channel. I'm real sorry the show is going off the air, it's great for me 'cos I love to travel a lot and don't get to do so as much as I want to, so when I see somewhere nice on your program, I write it down so if I'm ever in the area........ Anyway, I'd love to hear from other DICEMAN fans from all over the world, email me on E4MA99@HOTMAIL.COM Have you ever thought of doing a show in AFRICA??? You should!!! There's lots to see and lot's to do, so if you decide to, we'd love to have you. So write okay? Best wishes. IFY, Nigeria, West Africa. hehehee badit habit...do you ever get out of the speeding tickets? Well if shaun ever gets tired of being the camera man..and drinking..i would LOVE to be his backup..hehehe...i like real cider...and love drinking....cause ever time i see a show yall are either serving beer or drinking it..hehehe like today the show was with yall in bandera texas in a drive thru gas station....heheh serving beer...you dont see those kinds of places too much... oh well..have fun and of course CHEERS! glug glug glug Trent, Memphis, Tennessee Dear Russell and Shaun, I have just discovered your show recently, and just wanted to share with you how much I love it! You both seem like sweet, gorgeous guys...good luck with the show, hope your rolling that die for years to come! Thanks for letting us in on the adventures. Amanda Givens Dear Russell & Shaun, the program is probably the best show on t.v,next to the FAST SHOW. I do watch your show as often as I can.I used to watch the show just to see Russell's Rolex Submariner watch(what a sad person I am).I found that I was spending most of the show trying to see his watch. So In the end the only thing to do was to buy my own, after I got a second mortgage.Has Shaun got one,if not why not.Get Russell to get you one you deserve it,keep chasing him around .Any way at least now I can watch the show in peace, but I have now found I want a orange jacket .Keep up with a wonderful show. Andy Diamond Hey Russell, My name is trent steele and i live in memphis tennessee...well i was watching the show where you guys were going to warsaw poland. well you said you had been naughty...and got a speeding ticket...i also saw an episode where you got one in the united states...i think in arizona....i was wondering how do you afford car insurance? hehehehe also wondering how many tickets you have gotten...and the different places...i am sure there are too many to tell.hehehe anyways...i cant say much cause i have a bit of a lead foot myself.. anyways...just wondering Trent Steele I love your show!! I watch it every time it is on the Travel Channel via my satellite dish. I must say that I am self employed and I don't start my day until I have watched your show. I just started to watch, about a month now, and my only comment is that I think it should be an hour long....30 min w/ commercials is not enough!!! Your show is truely fresh, creative and a pleasure to watch. Thank-you for letting all of us get to know you two. Bob This is by far the best show on the Travel network!! If they don't keep this show on there is something wrong with them, they should put it on prime time instead of some of the nonsense that they put on now!!! We need some new episodes and I will write them and express my opinion cause if they take your show off the air I will boycott that network. Hey I will offer you somewhere to stay here in beautiful Pa. lot of history here in Jim Thorpe and lots of fun things to do!!! Well I wanted to say thanks for the entertainment and keep having a blast because thats what its all about!!! Jim Russell and Shaun, I adore the show and I just wish it could go on. The format is excellent, the show contains Humour and Education. It should really have a prime time slot on the BBC instead of being hidden away on Discovery. Please let me know who to write to at Discovery as I should like to make my feelings known to them. If the show is dropped what do Russell and Shaun intend to do ?, What ever it is Guys good luck but I'm The Diceman will keep rolling.Good luck and thanks for some happy memories. David North Russell and Shaun, You guys are the best thing on the travel channel. I agree with you that content is king. Keep it real gentlemen. Superply Ah, yes. I remember Shaun... Do you remember the night in San Antonio when Shaun was nowhere to be found? He was with me, learning to make 30 minute brownies in 20 minutes - Texas style. It was love at first bite. I followed him to Peru where we "liberated" an Italian motorbike parked behind an Incan souvenir shop. We rode recklessly to Lima that night where I was to receive an award for best flamenco dancer in a Zarzuelan opera. I saw Shaun's face in the audience and said, "You like me, you really like me." I left abruptly, though, as I was giving a paper in New Jersey to the traveling Caber Throwing convention, but that only catapulted my thoughts back to Shaun and the sultry summer nights sipping Bloody Marys in Sussex. Or was it Essex? No. I remember now. It was Tijuana. He was wearing the frayed Yankees Baseball Cap I gave him when we marched in the Puerto Rican day parade in the Bronx. I taught him how to say, "Yo quiero Taco Bell." It was a magical moment. But you know our Shaun. He can't stay away from the snow and the mountains for long. And so, knowing that true love will come back if you set it free, I told him to go and find his perfect mogul in Mongolia. I would join him as soon as Martha Stewart and I took our set of homemade china out of the kiln and painted little yellow roses on 180 dishes and 12 matching cups, built a rustic hand-hewn harvest table for her new Connecticut farmhouse, put an addition on her garage and rotated her tires. Two days later, I was able to join Shaun in Ulan Bator. It was a dream come true for the both of us. But alas, the Pentagon beckoned me home as Canadian terrorists were reported to have taken over a Jewish deli in Minnesota and I was needed to crack the case. Once again, work came between us. Shaun was left alone in the yurt with the yak. Fate intervened. They weren't terrorists. They were tourists. There was a new gal on the job who couldn't spell. And the deli wasn't Jewish. It was Amish. I needed a break. I needed to be with the mysterious man behind the camera. I knew I could find him with the world famous gambler, the man with one die. He lost the other in a savage game of Monopoly on his way to Mombassa. It was terrible. Yes, that's where the Lensman would be. Sailing in Mombassa. Or was it Montparnesse? No. I remember now. It was the Bosphorus. (He was particularly fond of the Turkish baths.) It was difficult for him without me and he told me he often had to spend his nights with a hookah to ease his loneliness. (I think he said "hookah".) I would tell you more, but I'm preparing for my opening tonight. I'm headlining in a one-woman show of Dame Judith Evans doing Betty Boothroyd doing Parliament. I'm do in an hour. Please tell Shaun that I still have the velvet painting of Elvis dressed as a matador serenading a bull. He'll understand. I think of our Shaun every time I hear Mariachis singing Blue Suede Shoes. It brings a tear to my eye. In the mean time, all I can do is stay tuned to the Travel Channel and wait for the Diceman and his lonely companion to grace the screen...circling the globe, going to places where the Lensman and I shared many a Guinness, remembering the good old days. Skygal Hi There Im Deon from South Africa, I just want to say that we never miss you travels. Its just so great to watch u two travel the globe and enjoying yourselves. Matt, Wichita Kansas, USA Dear Russell & Shaun, I was given a "dish" as a get-well gift by the Familyafter being in hospital for a while. Having had the time to look thru' the various selections one programme is now a must for us all....take a bow it's yours. We all like your impromptu travels, but we're sure behind the scenes there is a lot of planning and organisation....noted you also have a relative on the credits, we picturea few more than you and Shaun on the trips. Never mind, most enjoyable and that's the reason for the note....to thank you all for a great show, apparently off-the-cuff, interesting places, interesting people and all done in a very relaxed style. Keep up the good work and many more rewarding rolls of the dice. John Forsythe& Family With so few programs on television worth watching, I was over joyed when I stumbled upon your marvellous extemporaneous show !!! Now it's a daily fix during my Nortic Trac workout...the time flys by, and the Phuds music gets me going too. I just hope the reruns last. With so many adventures in your resume, if Discovery Channel doesn't order more shows, I have no doubt that we will be seeing lots more from you both. Cheers ! Alex I just wanted to thank you for producing such a fine program. I recently had back surgery and therefore had alot of time to watch the television. I found the show by accident and have been a faithful viewer ever since. It is such an interesting concept and it gives everyone a chance to see the rest of the world. Good luck in your future travels and in everything you do. Thanks for the entertaining mornings and here's to a new season. Jenifer Emrich, a loyal fan and true Love your show , Its the best show on the Travel channel. When are you guys coming to Orlando. Hopefully soon ........ Love to take you our to dinner where ever the dice tell us to go. Wayne & Judy Dear Russel and Shaun, Oh my god, we are hooked by your programm. Every morning at 9.30 you are on Discovery. We have to work at that time, so we tape everything. I read your fan page and I must say "I didn't no that there where so many people with taste for a good programm'. We think you both give such a pleasure in youre travelling, although it's not always easy. We went to London for 3 times (myself about 7 times) and never got further. But your programm showed us so much to do in England. That we think that next year it's not Kroatie but England for holiday. Thank you for making this programme. And we hope to see much much more of it. When your in Holland, you both are very welkom to stay the night or what ever. So you can let everybody see how beautiful our country is. Patrick en Ellen Hinderink, Alkmaar Dear Russell, We are so upset that there will be no more Diceman Series. Every gay and lesbian person in my state, that I know, are in love with you. Shaun is all right, but you are it. I personally was sorry to read in your personal profile that you are married. But no surprise here. Secretly, I am happy for you (and her), but what can I say? Most of us have taped all your programs shown here, so we will not be totally without you, but please register the Gay Vote for More Russell ! ! ! Dear Russell and Shaun: The show is really great. I'm surprised it took so long for a USA station to pick it up. I really enjoy it. I think it is great you get to travel in the fashion you do. It seems so easy, no tangles with the usual headaches. I love watching The Diceman and I hope you both feel like continuing the show for a while longer. Here's to hoping you keep on going, Kimberly Pace (Mobile,Alabama USA) Russell and Shaun, I absolutely love your show. Ever since I saw it for the first time on the Travel Channel, I was hooked. Now, I make my fiance get up early with me so we can watch the show together. This show is by far the most original programming I have ever seen. I still don't know what to expect every time I tune in. I would love to see you guys come to Florida in the US, hopefully, you can come to Tampa and check out some of the festivals we have here. You have to do the talk show circuit in the US the get some more influential support to keep your show on the air. To lose this show would be a travesty. Your loyal viewer, Brian Dear Russel & Shaun, I really love your show and watch it every week. And because of your show I went to Scotland. It was a holiday I will never forget. I wanna thank you for that. I certainly go back this year. I hope that your show will go on for a long time. Good luck!!! lots of love, Ellen from the Netherlands Dear Russell and Shaun, I just can't get enough of your show, thanks for the laughs. If your ever in my part of the US please stop by the farm and say hi. Keep Up The Great Shows, Craig Gardner Dear Russell and Shaun Our Mum and Dad normally don't allow us to watch telly in the evenings but they let us watch your brilliant programme...We think it is because they love it so much too. We've only just started watching Diceman so it's very bad news that there are no more series. Hope your earlier programmes are repeated. Why don't you come to Namibia.....it's a very beautiful country and it's full of surprises. Very best wishes Alex and Marcus Woolfe, Windhoek, Namibia Hi Guys, Just wanted to let you know how much enjoyment I get from watching 'The Diceman' series. One of the best programs I have seen. Keep up the good work and God Bless Greta...... THAT touched me, dedicating 'The Diceman USA' to her. Your enthusiasm and dedication comes through loud and clear and makes me want to visit the places you have...... I do hope you continue. OK, I'm a sentimental person, but the way you present the program, I feel I am there. THANK YOU for such GREAT entertainment Bob Wood Dear Rus & Shaun I watch your show while I am travelling round the world with work . I have to say that it keeps me sane ( especially when in deepest Africa) and reminds me that we really do live in one of the fabbist countries there is. Thank you for giving me some excellent ideas for when I am in ' Old Blighty' Regards Fiona Greetings guys, My husband and I were flipping through the channels on the tv one morning ( we're nurses that happen to work nights) and caught your show. What a concept! We both were hooked. Now we have to get our daily dose of the Diceman. We are planning a trip to the American Southwest this fall and we both have decided on a town and we are going to by some dice and go from there. Continued success Russell and Shaun. Great show! We'll be watching. Julie and Jim Leonard To Russel and Shaun: Great show guys! Please don't let them end your journeys. Joe S. Rochester, New York Hi Shaun & Russell, When are you two guys going to get your act together and do another series?,it`s boring on tv,we want another series, and we want it now,Russell do you have Asthma?,the wheezing from your chest is terrible, hey do you guys sell any t-shirts with the Diceman logo?,do you know where we can get get one from?Love the show,my mate in the States watches you guys, she thinks you`re great, you two are welcome in Bury Lancs anytime,it`s just up the road from you,i wish you both the very best and thanks for a great programme and a great internet name for myself,LOL,cheers! Best Wishes, The Bury Diceman..... ps,Russell are you going to do any more Radio programmes?GMR was great!! Admitting that most television programming in the US is absolutely awful, the Diceman is such a breath of fresh air in the TV world via The Travel Channel. Watching Series IV here in the US inspires me to take a road trip this summer when I graduate from college and explore my own country. Spontaneity will be the key to my travels just as yours are. I only wish I could be as personable and open as you two are to strangers. Anyway, when in Virginia in any future endeavours, you will find a lot of history and a lot of friendly people who will want to head out to the local bar or pub to make your acquaintance on your travels! The Diceman series (various) seem to be everywhere on the Discovery channels right now - excellent! Surely Discovery will be commissioning a new series. If not I'll have to set off around the UK with a set of dice myself! A great little show - simple, effective, and interesting. If Discovery don't want the Diceman then surely it would be perfect on BBC2 or C4?? Andrew, Yorkshire Russell and Shaun, While watching television and getting really discouraged with some of the programs, I decided to check out this program titled The Diceman. It sounded really odd but I thought I would give it a try and see what it was all about. When I turned the program on, I witnessed beautiful scenery in Arizona. I was hooked! Not only are the places you two go spectacular but you add a quality to the show by having not having everything rehearsed and read from a script. You have inspired me to go out and take a chance to see my country in a different way, or maybe even the world! I would like to thank you for making such a great show, and I hope you keep making many more episodes! Nicky Flanum, Clear Lake, Wisconsin Watch you two everyday(whenever I don't work mornings). I come from Jacksonville,IL. in the U.S.A. and your show comes on at 10 am. It is truly one of mine and my husband best shows on T.V. now. I think we like your show best of all is that you include your cameraman Shaun, which people just don't do that anymore. Russell, I think you seem like a very nice man (and Shaun too). I think you have a very nice smile and I love your laugh!! I just saw today's show and you were in FL. I'm glad you got to catch that fish. It was the weekend of the SuperBowl. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we REALLY do love your show. I think it would be awesome to travel with you somewhere (warm).haha. Keep up the excellent work.It would be great to hear from you. Maureen K. Fox Dear Russel and Shaun, I think its as outrageous as some of the great things you do (did - i hope not) that discovery are cutting the show. Have they no sense??? Well i hope you get things sorted and go back on the road simply because its such a great show, and i'm not the only one who thinks so, look at the rest of the comments on this page. The role of a dice to decide what to do or where to go is a fantastic premise and its one of those extraordinary shows that you can't fail but to like. James Keane, London Dear Russell and Shaun I have been watching your show now for about 2 months and let me tell you it's the only programme that I really rush home for. It comes on T.V here every weekday night at 18:30 and I try not miss it for anything. I have been meaning to write to you guys for quite some time now but have just been to busy. You see I am in actual fact on my way to the UK to work on a golfcourse. I have been planning this trip now for a few months and watching The Diceman it has helped me get some bearings and direction around England, and it has actually promoted the UK for me. I was a little skeptical about my whole venture but your show has shown me otherwise. Please if someone you meet suggests for you to go to Ware, north of London, make sure that the dice lands on the coinciding number. That is where my new job is an I'd really like to see more about it. Anyway it has been a pleasure writing to you guys and I hope there will always be a Diceman. Who knows maybe I'll get to see you one day when I'm over there "but one things for sure it's all up to the role of the dice" Keep up the great show James Hallett, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa To Diceman & Co. I have been watching your show for some months now and i reckon is by far the best travel show around. plus it brings back memories from my trips to UK. the episodes in Northern Ireland and Scotland held me into the chair, staring to the tv screen. Belfast, Giants Causeway, Bushmills distilery,Ards peninsula, the streets of Edinburgh, the green sceneries of Ireland and Scotland are images that will last forever in my mind and i would like to thank you and your show for bringing them back.fingers crossed for continuing your show. Marian, Romania Russell: I very much enjoyed watching your show every evening after putting in a long day producing oil in the Tengiz field in the Caspian basin. Now back in California, I am looking for you on our satellite service! Best regards and keep up the good work! Charlie Powers I ask that your company seriously reconsider the decision not to commission new series of Little Planet Pictures: THE DICEMAN. This is an extremely original format for a travel show and is one of the most entertaining half-hour programmes on TV. Judging by the worldwide support as listed on the website "www.diceman.co.uk" (fan page) many people agree. So come on folks give your public what it wants - more of THE DICEMAN. PLEASE KEEP THIS EXCELLENT SHOW ON OUR TV'S. Dear Russell and Shaun, Just found your show after recently being laid off from work, don't want to go back to work because I will miss you all. Wished I could have seen Series 1 and 2. Sorry to find out that Discovery will not be showing any more of the Diceman. Tell them all of your fans want you back. This is truly a Great Great Show. Pam/from Virginia Dear Russell and Shaun; Thank you so very much for your wonderful show! I have been watching you guys for about a year on Travel Channel and I feel like your family! My wife and I always ask "Where did Russell and Shaun go today?' My better half is a doctor and has to spend a lot of time in surgery so she misses a lot of your shows, but now I'm tapeing them for her. If you're ever in or around the Alabama or Southeastern United States PLEASEEEEEE Let us know!!! Thanks again for all the incredible places you take us!!! Your travel companions; David & Elizabeth Bolden To Russell and Shaun. I must say you guy's make one hell of a funny team. I must also say that your show is one of the most unique shows I have ever seen, just to see how you guy's go about doing things is a show on it's own. There is just one question that i need answered, and that is when you are climbing a mountain or going down a stream or doing any activity. How does Shaun get ahead of you to film you from the top? Ha Ha. Hope to see you soon in SA. From Davide Favo, South Africa. JHB (Nigel) I am writing to tell you how much I love your show! It is about the thing on T.V. now....no violence. Only beautiful places around the world and the wacky way you get there! Thanks for a great show! From Susan Hi Russel and Shaun, Upon surfing onto your page after watching one of your shows i have discovered they may not air anymore shows. I thought my husband finally found a show WE can actually sit clear through without him flicking to a different channel. He enjoys it that much. And i just love it. What a fantastic idea and a blast you must have doing it. We will sure miss new adventures. Just recently found the program and want to see more!!!! Sandee and Kenny, San Diego CA Dear R+S, Keep it up, this is a great show that I really look forward to watching. I get it on the Travel Channel here in the States (outside of Atlanta, Georgia). Quite often I'll be doing something with the television on in the background as "white noise". All of a sudden I'll hear the theme and I'm watching again. I've been on sabatical for 3 months, and have fallen in love with the show! Here, it's on at least twice a day. I really am bummed out that I'll have to go back to work soon and miss it. Try to get it shown in the evening here and I'll be happy as a pig in shit. Take care guys, travel safely ... Chris Krubel, Norcross, Georgia, USA An absolutely great show!!! My wife and I travel as much as we can and admire your no plan approach--who wants to plan. Anyway keep the show going and much success. I sent Discovery a note as well giving you guys great praise. If you pass through Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S.-please feel free to use our house as hotel if you need it. Roger Hudson Russell and Sean, Having watched it for years, time for an email. Excellent show. music irritates the wife no end - so thanks for the download. Especially like the climbing, wilderness, lakes, scotland, and Greenland was superb. Must have more new programmes. Perhaps if you have a funding problem, you could get each episode paid for by someone accompanying you (off screen) and treating it as a holiday - i'm up for it. One comment, you were once on the way to Norwich - and only got as far as Ipswich - bad choice. Looking forward to more shows. Richard. Norwich, UK Greetings from Saudi Arabia gambling is illegal in the Kingdom so in theory we may not watch any episodes where a die is thrown ...but then the satellite dish we use to pick up Discovery is technically illegal too ! Jamse Hello Russ & Shaun, Sure has been a long winter here in New England. Broke my ankle, am laid up for awhile and so have been spending LOTS of time watching the Travel channel. My husband and I really enjoy your show and look forward to watching it daily. What a great way to travel and experience the roll of the dice. We have yet to see a show that is more local to us. We want to share our area with the rest of the world. So we want to invite you and Shaun to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. SO much to see and do in this area. We live on the southcoast of Massachusetts, and the area is rich in history, culture and adventure. The dice would be rolling constantly, there is so much to do. If by chance you consider our offer, we have more than enough room to accommodate. From reading the fan mail we see that the show will no longer be updated. How AWFUL!!! We will do our part to help keep the show on the air. For those of us who can't get out to see the whole world, you and Shaun bring the world to us. Thanks again for such an entertaining and spontaneous way to travel. Hope to see and hear from you soon, Julian & Michel, Massachusetts, USA Hi Russell & Shaun, Thanks for such a great programme. I have been laid up for the past few weeks with a slipped disc but it hasn't been too bad because I've had your superb shows to watch everyday on Home & Leisure. Well done for what is 'The Most Original Show' on T.V. I can't believe Discovery are not going to commission any more !!! Are they mad ??? I have only discovered you recently on Home & Leisure but I am looking forward to the re-runs and hopefully a fifth series. I will be using the dice on my holiday for Florida in September, and ,(if I've got the guts) in my normal way of life a bit more. Once again, many thanks. Andy Short, Stevenage,U.K. Hi Russell & Shaun Man what a wonderful show you guys put on. Have been tracking you from Station to Station thru our Sat TV and finally got to run a series (Part 2) on Discovery. We're coming to the UK in May to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and would really like to meet you and Shaun if that's possible as we are your greatest fans. Hi Russell and Shaun As a new viewer to your show, think the show is brilliant. Sorry to hear no more are being made at the moment, what a shame.Loved the show where you were driving the tank near Wrexham where we live. Sending off for a polo shirt, will there be any more baseball caps? The Dice may know. Carry on rolling the dice, best of luck Brian,Paula,Robert and Laura, Wrexham Russell and Shaun We think your show is brilliant and have a holiday in Cornwall in August which will be dedicated to your programme armed with a dice and a video camera we will conquer Cornwall or not let the dice decide. We have a question to ask you, So we know how many dice to pack how many did you lose? Matthew & Chris Just started watching the show ( just got SKY DIGITAL) looked on website, old series thou hope to see more! keep the DICE rollin' Pete, Deb & Sophie(aged 3), UK Just wanted to say "Hi", best wishes and keep the show going! What's most enjoyable about your program is your enthusiasm and good sportsmanship. I mean, when the dice causes you to miss places like Las Vegas but sends you to places like "I can't believe that bloke on the plane sent us here" Ludbury, England --you're a real sport to not throw a fit on camera! It's a really nice show. Take care, and tell Shaun "steady on" with that apple cider! Joseph Clark, Orlando, Florida, USA Dear Russell and Shaun Well done and congrats on arguably the best show on Discovery if not all of television. aEver since I first started watching the Diceman, I've become a absolute addict. The fun that you guys get up to is really something amazing. Russell well done on such a brilliant concept!! Since seeing your show, I have decided to go on an expedition just like yours taking in Europe and Scandinavia.Unfortunatly, I’m going to have to make it a bit more structured than the way its done on the show.As much as I'd love to fly off to Greenland at the roll of the dice, my teensie weensie budget wont get me there. But no fear, I will carry the spirit of the show with me wherever I go. Thanks one again for a great ride each day. Myles, South Africa |
