What a great show! Its like no other travel show. I have even strated to roll the dice on my own adventures with my wife. What can I say that has not already been said about your program, sheer BRILLIANT!!! Your show must be good if it can stop my 5 year old son from watching Cartoon Network in the afternoon when he comes home from school when, both of us are seasoned viewers now, we have seen all 4 series now at least twice, although we have seen the programs many times they are not boring or stale, there is always something new you seem to find in the programl. It seem to me that Discovery Channel have got there priorities wrong, all they seem to think we want to watch is some boring american building a log cabin that would look out of place anywhere except the rockies or the swiss alps or two stupid blokes stripping old furniture, if you ask me they should strip those two of there programing time and kick them of the air and give you the time slot. Anyway I hope you manage to get the program back on the air either with the discovery channel or some other channel as long as you post the new channel on your website. Many thanks for a great show

A great series that has you scanning the EPG (electronic programme guide for those in America) to catch the show. The problem is that I must have seen so many bits from all the series but not the series as a whole. I echo the sentiments of the series being released on video or for it to find its way onto terrestrial tele. Any plans for Canada, Niagra, Buffalo, New York areas. Plenty to see and do. Love to see them in or by the Falls. Thank you to all of you in front and behind the cameras and don't stop!!!!

The Travel Channel states that they do not have any plans to reair the Diceman show at this time. Is the Diceman on video? Is there another channel the Diceman might be playing on? Also, is my T-shirt on its way? I have a friend that lives outside of Leeds. I visited three years ago. I always enjoy visiting England. I just love the language. Thanks for corresponding.

I tried E-mailing viewer relations @ Discovery.com earlier this month regarding there canceling The Diceman program and as yet have received no reply. If there is anyone at this E-mail location they may be permanently "out to lunch". Other attempts I have made to reach anyone at the Discovery/Travel channel have met with similar non-responses. I like the suggestion in the Fan Page about making your previous (and hopefully future) shows available on video tape. Hope to see you guys again soon!!!!!

Just to say that I watch the Diceman whenever I can and you both impress my whole family. You are so interesting to watch as you seem to be people I've known all my life. Its as if you are part of the family. Wish I could do something like you do. There must be alot of work but you must love it too. Please take a moment to respond to this rabid fan of Russell and Shaun here in Houston, TX.USA. The Travel Channel had you guys on at 10AM and !2Noon every weekday and suddenly a month ago the program was taken off the air. I have e-mailed the Discovery channel but have not received a response from them to date.I am hoping that you might be able to shed some light on as to why it was taken off and whether or not there are plans to run the Series III and IV episodes again. Additionally are there any plans to run the Series I and II episodes? I have not seen any of these at all. Also, what are your plans for the future of the Diceman series? Is it really dead? I hope not because it was one of the programs really worth watching. What are Russell and Shaun's plans for the future? What are they doing now? I sure would love to see them again in anything that they do. Please take a moment to respond to any of these questions and give this loyal fan some hope. The future without the Diceman does not hold much joy.

Thanks for all the T.V series's , I've just been watching the U.S.A one and its spot-on. We (wife,kids and my self) are off to Florida soon so it was handy to see what we are letting ourselves in for.Whats the chance of getting your autographe for the wife (she thinks you look like me) it would be a big boost for her as we have only just moved to Ireland from the UK and she is finding it hard to settle in. I was shocked to see "The Diceman" is no longer part of The Travel Channel programming. I watch The Travel Channel from Acworth, Georgia, USA through Media One Cable Company. I love this show and want to see more episodes. I understand writing you may help their cause in returning to the air. So I am making my plea for you to allow the series to continue with new shows. I enjoy traveling with Russell and Shaun. They take me to places I've never visited and add spice to the visits as well. You never know where they will turn up next and what they will be doing. How many people can make selling items in a drive through convenience store or New York vending stand so thrilling?! They roll a die and never know what's going to happen until it stops. I beg you, please keep them on the air with new and exciting shows! THE WORLD NEEDS THE DICEMAN!!!

About 5 weeks ago I gave birth to my second daughter. Stuck at home and unwilling to watch soap operas, I found The Diceman one day during the lunchtime feeding and I was saved. Wife and girlfriend (?) not withstanding, Russell, Shaun, baby Annie and I had a steady 1:00 p.m. date. Between diapers, bottles and hoarse lullabies, it was my one link to the outside world (and how sad is that?) Then today, we settled in for our daily ritual and some stupid surfing guy was on the Travel Channel! What's up with that? The Diceman and I just met and now we've been torn apart? I think not. I'm sorry but this will never do. Reruns or not, I need my daily dose of Diceman. I'm currently experiencing serious withdrawal symptoms. I will be sending a letter to the Discovery Channel lobbying for The Diceman's return and I hope others will too. I don't know what I'll watch in the meantime, but it won't be that surfing dude. P.S. WHEN you guys get back on the air, see if the dice will take you to India. I REALLY want to go to India.

Just wanted to tell you how much I look forward to your show every day and how sorry I am that it's no longer being aired on the Travel Channel. Your show is wonderfully realistic and enjoyable and reminds me of many a trip I've taken in my life. I only wish I'd thought of this "dice" thing a long time ago. It would have made vacations with my wife a lot less stressful. Maybe it's a good thing you're off the air for a while, I'm spending a lot of time on the couch in front of the television and I even catch myself humming your theme song while I'm at work. Hello. I am e-mailing in order to find out if "The Diceman" episodes may be offered for sale as videos in the future. I have thoroughly enjoyed the show as I watched it over the last month and a half on the Travel Channel here in the USA. But, as I tuned in today, the show didn't appear and I have discovered that Travel Channel no longer has it listed in its program line-up! They kept repeating the same 8 or so episodes, also. As I know there are a wealth of "Diceman" episodes that I have not yet seen, I thought I'dwrite to ask about future videos offered for sale. Thank you!

Just had to write to tell you how much I enjoy the "Diceman" shows. Well done ! It has a very comfortable feel for me. Russell is a man I think I could be friends with. Sad to note, as of today 3/27/00 it has been dropped from the Discovery / Travel Channel selection of programs ! I called to complain about it.... I will be waiting for "Diceman" to return to a channel I can receive here in Ohio. I will miss it !

What the hell happened...? My family and I caught your show by accident channel surfing barely a month ago and we were instantly hooked.Your program was unique and it has been a true joy and our pleasure to follow you and Shaun on your travels . How sad this Monday when we switched on our Direct TV at the Diceman's regular time and realized that the show was no more. Is the Diceman on in other parts of the world or is the show gone forever? Is there any hope of it returning? It's hard to believe that the suits at Discovery Channel allow that freak-on-a-leash Alby to continue and some of the other lame shows and yet they sack you guys who had the best show and it probably would have gone through the roof had you been given the benefit of prime-time exposure. For what it's worth Russell and Shaun, you created a wonderful show, you brought much fun and joy to many people around the world, and you will truly, truly be missed. I live in Wichita, Kansas and I will be spending the summer in Barcaldine, Scotland. I have been to Europe several times but I have never been to Scotland. Do you know the area? I'm an avid "Diceman" watcher and I have a question. Have you thought about selling the series on videotape? I know several PBS series here in the U.S. have done so, such as "Mystery" and "National Geographic," and I was wondering if you were planning to do so as well. The Travel Channel here in the States are playing series III and IV, but not in order and all mixed together. Half the time my husband and I don't know if we'll be watching the guys in Texas or in Poland!!! Keep up the good work!!

Say it isn't so. No more Diceman segments are being taped? All those trips from Texas to Manchester, to Sheffield, to Saddleworth...hoping to see Shaun once more...for old time's sake...Then I guess my trip to Manchester this May will be my last (a long, wistful, melancholy sigh). Flying won't be the same anymore. Now, when I look down from my plane, down to the places below where Shaun and I countered many a clandestine rendezvous...I'll know he has moved on to other adventures. Perhaps, just one more visit to Grantown-on-Spey, where the die took us for the last time...and Shaun may rest assured that I will never show our "special" video to anyone, even though everyone here at the nursing home is dying to see it. I'm writing because I'm one of the many who love to watch the "Diceman" on the Travel Channel. I'm 23 years old and I'm getting ready to graduate from college in Michigan. Because I only have two classes left, I find myself with alot of time throughout the day. My days don't start till after I watch the Diceman at 11am and also 1pm. Even though I'm starting a new job soon in Southern California, I will definately be taping all of his shows while I'm at work. To be honest, I'm addicted to his show. I really feel that the Discovery Channel has something special here. I see the rest of the hosts on the Travel Channel as people who are lucky and have great jobs. They get paid to Travel the world. But with Russell, he is something special, he represents an ordinary person willing to take a risk and venture out and let fate rule is way. I'm sure there are many people who would love to venture out so freely like he does. Well, thanks to his show, I can vicariously. His show is truly entertaining and it opens up my eyes to see that there is so much out there to be discovered. However, I'm saddened to read over the internet that his show has been cancelled and only the reruns are left to watch. I'm sure the higher people at the Discovery Channel know what they are doing, but as a viewer, I think they are making a huge mistake. I'm only an engineer, not a marketing major. However, I feel that this show has a much larger potential if you showed it in the evening and not during the afternoon while most people are at work. Well, I have to go, the Diceman is on TV... the program is probably the best show on t.v,next to the FAST SHOW. I do watch your show as often as I can.I used to watch the show just to see Russell's Rolex Submariner watch(what a sad person I am).I found that I was spending most of the show trying to see his watch.So In the end the only thing to do was to buy my own,after I got a second mortgage.Has Shaun got one,if not why not.Get Russell to get you one you deserve it,keep chasing him around .Any way at least now I can watch the show in peace,but I have now found I want a orange jacket .Keep up with a wonderful show.

I love your show!! I watch it every time it is on the Travel Channel via my satellite dish. I must say that I am self employed and I don't start my day until I have watched your show. I just started to watch, about a month now, and my only comment is that I think it should be an hour long....30 min w/ commercials is not enough!!! This is by far the best show on the Travel network!! If they don't keep this show on there is something wrong with them, they should put it on prime time instead of some of the nonsense that they put on now!!! We need some new episodes and I will write them and express my opinion cause if they take your show off the air I will boycott that network. Hey I will offer you somewhere to stay here in beautiful Pa. lot of history here in Jim Thorpe and lots of fun things to do!!! I adore the show and I just wish it could go on. The format is excellent, the show contains Humour and Education. It should really have a prime time slot on the BBC instead of being hidden away on Discovery. Please let me know who to write to at Discovery as I should like to make my feelings known to them. Ah, yes. I remember Shaun...
Do you remember the night in San Antonio when Shaun was nowhere to be found? He was with me, learning to make 30 minute brownies in 20 minutes - Texas style. It was love at first bite. I followed him to Peru where we "liberated" an Italian motorbike parked behind an Incan souvenir shop. We rode recklessly to Lima that night where I was to receive an award for best flamenco dancer in a Zarzuelan opera. I saw Shaun's face in the audience and said, "You like me, you really like me." I left abruptly, though, as I was giving a paper in New Jersey to the traveling Caber Throwing convention, but that only catapulted my thoughts back to Shaun and the sultry summer nights sipping Bloody Marys in Sussex. Or was it Essex? No. I remember now. It was Tijuana. He was wearing the frayed Yankees Baseball Cap I gave him when we marched in the Puerto Rican day parade in the Bronx. I taught him how to say, "Yo quiero Taco Bell." It was a magical moment. But you know our Shaun. He can't stay away from the snow and the mountains for long. And so, knowing that true love will come back if you set it free, I told him to go and find his perfect mogul in Mongolia. I would join him as soon as Martha Stewart and I took our set of homemade china out of the kiln and painted little yellow roses on 180 dishes and 12 matching cups, built a rustic hand-hewn harvest table for her new Connecticut farmhouse, put an addition on her garage and rotated her tires. Two days later, I was able to join Shaun in Ulan Bator. It was a dream come true for the both of us. But alas, the Pentagon beckoned me home as Canadian terrorists were reported to have taken over a Jewish deli in Minnesota and I was needed to crack the case. Once again, work came between us. Shaun was left alone in the yurt with the yak. Fate intervened. They weren't terrorists. They were tourists. There was a new gal on the job who couldn't spell. And the deli wasn't Jewish. It was Amish. I needed a break. I needed to be with the mysterious man behind the camera. I knew I could find him with the world famous gambler, the man with one die. He lost the other in a savage game of Monopoly on his way to Mombassa. It was terrible. Yes, that's where the Lensman would be. Sailing in Mombassa. Or was it Montparnesse? No. I remember now. It was the Bosphorus. (He was particularly fond of the Turkish baths.) It was difficult for him without me and he told me he often had to spend his nights with a hookah to ease his loneliness. (I think he said "hookah".) I would tell you more, but I'm preparing for my opening tonight. I'm headlining in a one-woman show of Dame Judith Evans doing Betty Boothroyd doing Parliament. I'm do in an hour. Please tell Shaun that I still have the velvet painting of Elvis dressed as a matador serenading a bull. He'll understand. I think of our Shaun every time I hear Mariachis singing Blue Suede Shoes. It brings a tear to my eye. In the mean time, all I can do is stay tuned to the Travel Channel and wait for the Diceman and his lonely companion to grace the screen...circling the globe, going to places where the Lensman and I shared many a Guinness, remembering the good old days.

Having had the time to look thru' the various selections one programme is now a must for us all....take a bow it's yours. We all like your impromptu travels, but we're sure behind the scenes there is a lot of planning and organisation....noted you also have a relative on the credits, we picturea few more than you and Shaun on the trips. Now it's a daily fix during my Nortic Trac workout...the time flys by, and the Phuds music gets me going too. I just hope the reruns last. I just wanted to thank you for producing such a fine program. I recently had back surgery and therefore had alot of time to watch the television. I found the show by accident and have been a faithful viewer ever since. It is such an interesting concept and it gives everyone a chance to see the rest of the world. Oh my god, we are hooked by your programm. Every morning at 9.30 you are on Discovery. We have to work at that time, so we tape everything. I read your fan page and I must say "I didn't no that there where so many people with taste for a good programm'. We think you both give such a pleasure in youre travelling, although it's not always easy. We went to London for 3 times (myself about 7 times) and never got further. But your programm showed us so much to do in England. That we think that next year it's not Kroatie but England for holiday. Thank you for making this programme. Admitting that most television programming in the US is absolutely awful, the Diceman is such a breath of fresh air in the TV world via The Travel Channel. Watching Series IV here in the US inspires me to take a road trip this summer when I graduate from college and explore my own country. Spontaneity will be the key to my travels just as yours are. I only wish I could be as personable and open as you two are to strangers. Anyway, when in Virginia in any future endeavours, you will find a lot of history and a lot of friendly people who will want to head out to the local bar or pub to make your acquaintance on your travels! The Diceman series (various) seem to be everywhere on the Discovery channels right now - excellent! Surely Discovery will be commissioning a new series. If not I'll have to set off around the UK with a set of dice myself! A great little show - simple, effective, and interesting. If Discovery don't want the Diceman then surely it would be perfect on BBC2 or C4??

While watching television and getting really discouraged with some of the programs, I decided to check out this program titled The Diceman.It sounded really odd but I thought I would give it a try and see what it was all about.When I turned the program on, I witnessed beautiful scenery in Arizona. I have been watching your show now for about 2 months and let me tell you it's the only programme that I really rush home for. It comes on T.V here every weekday night at 18:30 and I try not miss it for anything. I have been meaning to write to you guys for quite some time now but have just been to busy. You see I am in actual fact on my way to the UK to work on a golfcourse. I have been planning this trip now for a few months and watching The Diceman it has helped me get some bearings and direction around England, and it has actually promoted the UK for me. I was a little skeptical about my whole venture but your show has shown me otherwise. Please if someone you meet suggests for you to go to Ware, north of London, make sure that the dice lands on the coinciding number. Having watched it for years, time for an email. Excellent show. music irritates the wife no end - so thanks for the download. Especially like the climbing, wilderness, lakes, scotland, and Greenland was superb. Must have more new programmes. Perhaps if you have a funding problem, you could get each episode paid for by someone accompanying you (off screen) and treating it as a holiday - i'm up for it. One comment, you were once on the way to Norwich - and only got as far as Ipswich - bad choice. Looking forward to more shows.

Sure has been a long winter here in New England. Broke my ankle, am laid up for awhile and so have been spending LOTS of time watching the Travel channel. My husband and I really enjoy your show and look forward to watching it daily. What a great way to travel and experience the roll of the dice. We have yet to see a show that is more local to us. We want to share our area with the rest of the world. So we want to invite you and Shaun to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. SO much to see and do in this area. We live on the southcoast of Massachusetts, and the area is rich in history, culture and adventure. The dice would be rolling constantly, there is so much to do. If by chance you consider our offer, we have more than enough room to accommodate. From reading the fan mail we see that the show will no longer be updated. How AWFUL!!!
