Page 2.... it's the way they bounce This is where you can make your voice heard. Russell and Shaun want to hear what you really think! E-mail us at whim@diceman.co.uk Heh, guys! Any chance you boys could drop your fans a line via e-mail or a note on your web page? We'd all like to see your show return, but I think we would be happy just to know you're still alive. Say something......anyway, hope life's being good to you. Brad Whalen, USA hi russell and shaun i'd just like to say your show is absolutely fab, so much so i've even managed to convince my husband to watch and he now loves it too. allison, falkirk.scotland To Russell and Shaun, Thank you for the best T.V show I have ever seen, I would also like to thank you for making the U.K seem so small keep up the good work. Matyn J. Moore Wow! I thought I was the only one who likes this show, but I guess I'm just your average Joe that Likes a good show. I write to you from Riga, Latvia. I wanted to sugjest that you come to Eastern Europe, but by viewing your other e-mails it seems like you have a busy schedule. If you ever make it to Latvia please pick up the magazine Riga in Your Pocket, they also make many other Pocket guides for Eastern europe. These guides let you know were to eat, stay, and have fun, or check-out there web page. May every role lead down a new hole! Regards, Kurt Sveilis Russell Great series, It proved to be ideal viewing while I was a student, you must have the best job in the world, but would you of gone for the Super Bowl tickets or would there of been some carefull editing as it would of no doubt hammered your budget ??? I particularly enjoyed the episode when you took the Harley's down Route 66 and also when you got leathered at the Mardi Gras, I think one of the reasons I like the show is because you are always eating and drinking, I can relate to that. Anyway you have got to do a series Down Under or maybe Thailand, now that would be entertaining viewing !!! Seriously Australia and New Zealand have got to be the next project. Hope to see a new series & thanks for some entertaining viewing Yours Sincerley Tim Turner Russell&Shaun, I watch the show avidly over here in Russia on Discovery, the appeal for me is the way the show flows so smoothly and is in-line with reality, the reason i say this is that Russell reminds me so much of my brother who has travelled extensively. The reason i am sending this e-mail is are there any plans for The Diceman to roll into Eastern Europe(Russia especially)as this part of the world is so unknown to many and all its taboo's as well. Keep Rolling Guys you’re doing fantastic work........... Faithfully Lee Russell/Shaun Absolutely fantastic program! Do you actually get paid for doing that job? Any vacancies for a bored computer technician? We have just been to Arizona/Nevada and California and cant wait to get back there. My ambition is to do a Diceman copycat and do the USA again. Particularly liked the 'Harley episodes'. Keep up the good work. Regards Terry Baker Well Russell me matey! How have you and Sean been lately? Everybody misses you guys galavanting all over the globe on their tellies. Will you blokes be back on the tube anytime soon? If you need any show ideas, I will be glad to help out! Your friend in Florida, Allen Dear Sir, I've contacted the Discovery Channel asking them if they intend to repeat 'The Diceman' but alas they are too busy to be bothered with me. They are obviously in a board meeting trying to think of ever more annoying ways of making a program about renovating an American House. But back to the Diceman. Would you be any chance have any idea when Discovery intend to repeat the series. It formed part of the backbone of the channel along with 'Two's Country' and 'Cookabout'. I would be very grateful if you could let me know of any intended repeats. My family and I adore the show and really miss it. Best Wishes David North Hey there Russell and Shaun! Wicked and original! What can I say! I watch the Diceman whenever its on! I've watched it ever since I first saw you guys on the BBC and now its on everyday on Discovery Travel and Adventure which is even better even though I've seen them all before its still great to see you up to all your mental antics and Russell your laugh cracks me up like nothing else! Shaun is great as camera man but any chance if you make a new series that we could see abit more of him as I and many others out there must agree that Shaun is one hot Man!!! Brian Hi Russell & Shaun, Is there ever likely to be a Diceman Canada? similar to Diceman USA which we have recently been watching on Discovery Channel. We are now being treated to Series 1 on Sundays and Series 3 in the week. I know transatlantic flights may be difficult at the moment with the current climate but if you do get airborne again, would you consider "doing" Canada?, it is a lovely part of the world and I for one would love to see you both in Toronto (probably in a bar) but hey, we need you guys to check out the bars of Canada possibly with a bit of scenery and affiliated travel!. Is there going to be more Diceman merchandise as I checked the pages earlier this week and it seems that the only item available is the long sleeved sweatshirt. I would love to order some of the mugs, the t shirts and of course the baseball cap. Hope to hear from you soon. Claire Steed Teynham, Kent (but formerly a born and bred scouser!!!) hi come on get your fingures out and make another series, or even a one off show, as its one of the best things on tv, even if i have seen most of the shows more than once. Yesterday I saw episode 5 of the Series three, day 8. You visite the Dom church in Utrecht. (Dom means in dutch also "silly" or "stupid" :)) But the mad bell ringer said that you have to catch the first plane on SchipHol Airport!! My opion is that was a stupid (DOM) thing to say, I believe that it wasn't a dutch man WHEHE :)!! So I think that you was to short in The Netherlands!! Please return another time to NLD and also visite The Hague or Maasstricht or the province Friesland, it's also NLD but they speak a divirent language. The time you visite NLD was much to short!! Cheers Matthew Jones (Liverpool) G'Day Russell & Shaun, We were in Stockholm for 10 months with work ( from Sept.'99 to July '00 ) where we 1st saw your show on Discovery Europe. Religiously every day at 9.30am I sat in front of the tube and watched your show....series 1 - 3. What a great concept for a travel show...thumbs up for putting bringing it to life. We now have the show here in Australia ( as you've said ) and as soon as I hear that great tune I'm transorted in time to 2 years earlier in Sweden....with a large smile on my face. Nick - Adelaide ( Australia ) PS: Here, we also get ( what appears to be ) a DIY show with yourself in it Russell....how old is this show ???? Dear Russell and Shaun I just had to write and say a massive thanks for a brilliant show. I have seen all the episodes and have great pleasure watching the current re-run on Discovery Travel and Adventure. Come on guys you must make another series. I just cannot see why the powers that be won't commission a new series. It's the best thing on televison. It is such a waste of talent not to have new shows. You guys have changed my whole concept of choosing where to go on holiday.... my wife nows throw the dice and we have to go with whatever the dice shows..... Russell and Shaun thanks again for a superb concept and brilliant programme. Best wishes Glenn Payne Hi Russell, Hi Shaun, Thanks for a great Programme. After a bad day, Its a great prescription for taking your mind off your troubles. I wish I could join you some times, because you look like you are having so much fun! Where is the 'STARTREK' transporter room when you need one!!!!!!! Beam me up Diceman........ Thanks once again. Alexander Glover-Knight Hi We just wanted to let you know how much we like the show, just been watching the Colorado episode. Hope you get the chance to another series. You came to Eastbourne once....how boring!! My favourite episodes, were the ones filmed in America, they were pretty awesome!! I read the main page about the show being aired in Aussie now. Paul Thomas Port Talbot G'day Guys, I just wanted to send you a quick note to say that I think your show is absolutely fantastic, and I am intereseted in seeing if a CD has been put out with the music from the show? Cheers Paul Hello, I'm from Russia. You know I've been watching lots of discovery channel especially "travel and adventure" and seen one of your colleagues even travelled to Russia and I was wandering whether you will visit Russia? <> Dear Russell and Shaun, My family and i have been watching your programme for a few months now and we enjoy it very much. We all sit down to watch your show, and my dad finds it quite amusing when me and my mum burst into song at the sound of your theme tune. We are happily watching the repeats at the moment, but we would love to see a new series (and new colourful wardrobe), Hope you can get one up and running. Love from Marie (14) Peterborough. P.S Russell, you bear an uncanny likeness to my Uncle!!! Hi Russell and Shaun, I like your show very very much! To bad it isnt on Discovery anymore. I hope u will be on soon again because on the way u travel is very very cool. Sometimes i still think of u guys. I hope u will be back this year with new series of The Diceman. U should do it all over the world now and not only in Great Brittain. Hope to see you 2 soon on a channel again ( especially on Discovery ). Greeting from Erik, Zwolle, Holland Hi Russell and Shaun, We are enjoying your show in Australia. I look forward to it on a Saturday night. How about coming out here to do a show. I think you would enjoy it and so would the fans. Merry Hi Russell and Shaun! Only realised today that you had a website and I feel ashamed of myself for not having noticed it when the credits rolled up at the end of each show. Now I've had a good look and have found out loads of interesting information about your fab programme. Anyway . . . I just wanted to say how much I love the programme. If only I could throw a dice to make major decisions in my life how much easier it would be! Hope you continue making this series as it's the best thing on TV. All the best Marion (Surrey Quays, London) Dear Russel + Shaun. I,ve just watched the episode when Russell plays golf at Harlech. If Russell is ever any where near Ramsgate in Kent i would be glad to give him some lessons, not that he needs them. What a fantastic programme and what two brilliant personalities. Keep up the good work. Nick Knight. I think I have now watched each series a minimum of 4 times each and I still love it as much today as the first time I saw. It is one programme on the TV that I can not bear to miss as I spend the day wondering which place I am missing today. I know it is sad but my ambition now is to be driving past to be able to offer you both lift (especially if it is somewhere exotic!) I hope you get around to making series no5 very soon, why not start from our house as you are not far away from Middlewich - Now that would be a privilidge! Love your work and pleae keep it going Nic Hi Russell & Shaun, Just been reading your website, you thoroughly deserve all the praise you receive! I have been watching your show on the Lifestyle Channel in Australia, I stumbled upon it completely by accident and it is now one of the highlights of my week. Last night I saw Russell doing 600 metre shark fishing in Greenland. I must say I fully understand how you felt at the end of the episode having to leave that place... what a beautiful part of the planet! Anyway thanks again, I look forward to seeing the rest of your shows, and hopefully when you make a new series (and I'm sure you will!) you can visit Melbourne... I would fall over myself to have a throw of the dice! Kind regards, Nathan Littel, Melbourne, Australia HI I REALLY LIKE YOUR SHOW I WATCH IT EVERYNITE MICK FOX BOURNEMOUTH Shaun & Russell I know most shows have done the "Australian bit" but as the dice man is shown over here on Satalite, why not come and do the "Diceman down under" I emigrated here from Blighty some 8 years ago and drove 36,000 km's around this interesting/huge/diverse bit of red dirt. The Backpacker scene is very big and cheap, so production costs would be very low. I'm sure one of you have been here before, so I don'y have to hark on about al the adventures you could have "rollin that dice" Good luck with your future plans Phil Ogden Hi Russell and Shaun My husband Charlie and I great big fans of the diceman and try not to miss an episode we live on the Isle of Wight so if you want an idea of somwhere to go you would be very welcome on the island keep up the good work both of you luv Pat and Charlie Pottlexx <> Hi there We are writing to your from Australia where we are thoroughly in love with The Diceman series. Russell is a fair dinkum wag! Is the series available on video or DVD. We have only seen the second series but have found the series are different from what is listed on The Diceman website. The only thing difficult is our pay for view channel is running 2 different series at one time and we don't want to start watching one series half way through. That is why we want to know is there anywhere we can buy the all the series on video or preferably DVD We can't wait for our weekly instalment of Russell, Shaun and their antics. Is there an email address where we can write to Russell as there is no address on the website. Any information on this fantastic series would be grateful. Your friends from down under Bryan and Raelene Carr Hi Russell and Shaun, Is there ever going to be another series made? I know it's a question loads of people have asked, but BBC, ITV, CH4 or CH5 should get your quality, funny, original and brilliant idea for a travel show on one of the five main TV channels, because all you get on them is mainly crap, boring and un-original programmes and alot of repeats. I would also rather see you in another Diceman series than attempting DIY ( just kidding ). Anyway some slapping needs to be done to wake up some TV bosses about this show. We hope to see you both back on TV very soon even if it is just repeats. Thanks for a great show Russell and Shaun. Jonathan, Sunderland, UK. Hi Russell and Shaun, I have been a big fan of the Diceman since you started, and have now got my younger brother into your travells. I really hope you bring out another series soon and it's nice to see a bit of Shaun now and again. He always seems to be the one who gets left out of things, so if he wants a night out,(with or without you Russell) your more than welcome to come to Cleethorpes and my brother and I will gladly take you out. Keep up the good work and be careful out there! Richard Marriott NE Lincolnshire hi russell+shaun, watch your shows on the travel and adventure programme.carry on with the good work.i hope to see a world diceman show that would be great.i l oved the european diceman.i thought it was great when you blagged the porche. richard MELTON MOWBRAY Rob Smiles Co.Durham My name is Rob Jacobs and i live in Essex. I havent yet missed one of your shows and have each one of them recorded onto tape. If you want somewhere new to come, why dont you come to Colchester, there is a million and 1 things to do here and is the oldest recorded town in Britain!. I saw you when you came out of Edinburgh airport, i had just finish work then ( when i was working for my dad). It was my Dad that got me hooked on your show, and he is now fighting in the Congo. Keep up the brilliant work and ill be looking forward to seeing you in Colchester!! Dear Team May I say that your program is a bright light amongst the accepted shabbiness that you can see on TV these days. It should have ten years left in it easy. Perhaps you should sell the format to individual countries. But you have thought of that already. Russell is very good and contrasts well with Shaun's coolness. Of course it may well rely on good editing but whatever; as I hop thru Sky I will always stop at 'Diceman' regardless. There is only one other show I will do this with, and that is 'Friends'. This is because no matter how many times you have seen it you know you will enjoy it again. Shame you do not get their money. Regarding: Just to let u know that my hubby and I watch your shows on Sky!! We are now getting to the point that we are watching repeats!! How sad are we!! LOL. You and Sean give us lots of pleasure and especially Mr DICE! Hope that you get a new series going soon, By the way even my 14 and 10 year old are into THE DICEMAN now. Love Heidi and John Toyn, Watford, Herts Dear whoever, i would just like to say that Shaun has got to be the sexiest man on the planet. He is soooo good looking. When can we see more of him? THIS IS NOT A JOKE, THIS IS GENUINE!!!! Shaun, you rock my world!!!!! Gem Hi Russell and Shaun, My husband and I throughly enjoy your show in Adelaide, Australia..... .......down under. There should be a show with the same concept made in Australia, what do you guys think?? Hear from you soon Cheers Erika and Gerry..........(fans from Oz) Dear Russell and Shaun, Congratulations on a fantastic series. I only wish each episode is on for an hour, it seems to go really quickly. Its hard to keep track on when it is shown on Discovery travel and adventure, so i keep seeing random shows. Currently trying to follow the USA one. The recent episodes on Route 66 were excellent and the scenery breathtaking, particularly the Colorado river rafting piece. Anyway I'm hoping for another series, it really is the best! All the best to you both - Is there a videoi of the series? Rob Taylor, North Wales HI TO YOU BOTH. JUST BEEN WATCHING THE DICEMAN IN ICELAND, WHAT A PLACE. YOU AND SHAUN GET TO DO SOME WEIRD AND WONDERFULL THINGS. MY WIFE AND I AND OUR TWO KIDS ARE GOING TO USE A DICE ON OUR NEXT HOLIDAY, TO SORT OUT WHAT TO DO ON OUR DAYS OUT. ANY WAY GREAT SHOW, JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT YOU DO NOT NEED A MILLION POUND PURSE TO PRODUCE A FANTASTIC SHOW. SEND A COPY OF THIS TO THE BBC IF YOU LIKE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. THE ROGERS FAMILY. P.S FANTASTIC DRIVE THROUGH SHOP IN AMERICA [UNIQUE PEOPLE] please reply as soon as possible thankyou Hey Russell and Shaun, I'm another one of the many fans your show from Australia. I went to England last year and wish I could be back there. At least for 1/2 an hour when the diceman's on I can pretend. I wonder if many people have decided to follow your lead and travel the globe with the advice from a dice now? I hope you end up making a new series. See Ya SDA, Perth West Aust. Hi Shaun & Russell, Just to let you know that whilst on a family holiday to Florida, we took a dice, and spent many of our days deciding what to do on the throw of a dice. The bast part - well there were two........ Firstly, the element of surprise, and secondly, the kids never argued on what to do, because you cannot argue with a dice. Incidently, being sad people, we wear our diceman polo-shirts, and do speak to many people who watch the show. Perhaps on our last day we should have asked the dice whether to return home or stay......... odds we stay, evens we stay !! Great show, look forward to seeing a new series soon. Steve & family in Hastings, (where the dice have not taken you yet). Dear Sean and Russel, I would to say that think that your T.V is one of the best shows on T.V and I can't understand why it is not shown more often. I think the concept of the show is first class as there is nothing else out there that has the same superb idea of a show as you. Hope that there will be a new series soon, keep that dice rolling. All the best Andrew aged 16 Hi Russell and Sean ............. Watch your program here in Australia on the Lifestyle Channel, and love it. On last nights episode, you were in Greenland. If the dice ever "rolls" to Australia, pay us a visit here in Goulburn. Cheers, Dorothy Cutler Goulburn. JASON & TAMMY DUNCAN ESSEX UK Hi all, My family and I in Melbourne love the show and are sad that another series hasn’t on yet. Maybe a ‘Diceman Down Under’ show. I must admit, though, that we really love the UK series with all those interesting places in the UK that we hope to visit one day. Your show brought us a lot of joy mainly because of your down to earth approach and friendly manner. Regards & best wishes, The Bawden Family, Melbourne Australia. <> Hi Guys: Sorry to hear about the bad roll of the dice with your show. I thought it was a great program and very well put together. I think a fellow poster might have hit upon a good idea" Diceman: Down Under" seems is Alby Mangles can do it with travel channel, why not you guys? I know the economy is not that great at the moment but there will always be a demand for travel shows. Cheers~ Richard Russell and Shaun, I think you guys have got a great programme going , I have been watching you two do some amazing stuff in the year and a half I have been watching you on discovery-GREAT !! Thanks very much for the way in which is it is presented aswell, Shaun I admire your patience.Guys you are the best !!! Keep it up . Its even enough to make a couch potato like me want to leave the house.... especially when I see the two of you enjoying a good pint of beer together in a pub! (loved the Dublin episode!..... I have made plans to visit those same haunts this coming June!). Regards, C. Sharpe. Dear Russell and Shaun I come from Greece and I've been watching your programme for some time now.I think it's the best one of this kind.It could really make my day and it managed to bring back a very warm feeling of England (because I lived there for one year as a student). Why has the programme stopped?Does this apply for our country only or has the programme reached an end? I really hope not because I've tried seen other similar programmes but nothing compares to yours!!! I hope that if you continue, you'll come to Greece as well! Lots of love Eleni Lazaridou Hi Russell and Shaun, YOUR SHOW IS THE BEST!!!! Every day after school regardless of what I am doing I always stop to watch your show. But I have to say, whenever beer is involved, I cant help noticing Shaun trying to fiddle the dice decision (sorry Shaun!!!!!). But now I am pretty worried, when are you going to make a new series? I hope you make another series because if you don't it would be a big blow to the Discovery channel and all your viewers. Anyway, looking forward to see a new series. If you are ever over hear on a bike especially on a Sunday come and ride out with us. Peter & Carol Hello Russell Harris Just a quick note. I have just started watching "The Diceman" and only think one thing about it, It`s a great idea and programme-Well done. I only came across it 2 weeks ago, whilst flicking throught the channels on Cable TV and now I am hooked. Good work Andy Halligan When I first saw the program synopsis on sky digital about two guy's leaving their fate to the roll of a dice I thought "what a croc!". Then one day I was feeding our baby and wasn't able to turn the T.V over when your program came on. I then thought "wow! what a great show" since then we have been hooked. I now arrange the evening meal so we just sit down to eat as your show starts at 6:30 pm. We hope there will be many more shows as you both cheer us up no end. Love and best wishes and safe travels. Jon, Bev & Kids -Halifax, England. Hi Russell and Shaun! Just had to say how much I love the show! Been watching since about 1998 and can't wait for a 5th Series - but will there ever be one? It's been two years! How about "Diceman Down Under"? Surely The Diceman is a big enough hit on Discovery to let you do another series? I keep an eye on this website, but it never mentions another series being made. So what's the latest news? It's such a great show and really captures the spirit of "budget adventure" - plus it's so unintentionally hilarious. I don't think you realize how many "catchphrases" you have!! Anyway, you both seem like great guys, I love the show, and... well, just do some more, please!!! Thanks Dan Owen, Lincolnshire dear russell&shaun, many thanks for one of the most watchable programmes to grace our screens! the concept and content is equal to none, the humour and genuine warmth toward people you meet is excellent, all in all,(you could say,) "the muts nuts!!" keep it up,good luck to you all!! ali johnson, rayleigh essex |
