Russell and Shaun want to hear what you really think!
E-mail us at whim@diceman.co.uk

Hi Guys
Thanks for a great programme that has been both funny, entertaining and informative. I've only subscibed to cable for a few months and The Diceman is my firm favourite on the Discovery Channel. I find the travel method inspiring and practical for decision making - on a recent trip to Amsterdam the dice helped us make up our minds on which bars to go, a la Diceman! Often through the show I've seen places I either wouldn't have thought of going or had never heard of! I think Australia would be a good place to do next (if you get the opportunity). I'd love to see another series - so keep pestering the folks at Discovery. Thanks to you both Russell and Shaun. Kind Regards
Robert Cains
PS I'm not sure about that lillac Lacoste polo shirt, it's so bad I had to buy one!.
PPS If you're ever in Norwich on a Saturday afternoon I'll be in the Horse and Dray Pub on Ber Street, not much of a pub but they serve a great pint of Adnams Bitter and the pork scratchings aren't bad either!
PPPS Hope the email to Discovery helps

Hi Discovery
I started subscribing to cable a few months ago and going through the various channels looking for programmes I thought would be interesting to me. I knew that many of the programmes on the Discovery Channel would be the sort of thing I'd like and by chance I noticed in the schedule a programme called The Diceman. After the first viewing I've been hooked and I've got my wife into it, and I've talked about it so much to my mates they're all watching it. The Diceman gives a very different flavour to travel with the random chance factor removing the predictability that can dog some other travel shows. The Diceman is also very intimate, the fact that only two people are involved in the on the spot production adds a perspective of travel that's missing from a lot of travel programmes. I've watched many travel programmes on Discovery (and other channels) and the Diceman is one I return to again and again. I could do with a new series and I would recommend Australia, send the guys there! My wife and I have just returned from a holiday there and found the cities and country ideally suited to having a dice to help us make up our minds as to what to do! So please could we have another series? regards
Robert Cains

mark and caroline

Hi to Russel and Shaun,
firstly may I congratulate you on such a great series of the "Diceman", I watch it most days, even the repeats, I like the informality of the show and the great places you seem to visit, wonder if you ever bump into any other film crews?? My family and I are going to travel to France next year, we live inJersey so it is just a short hop for us, but what we are going to so is "roll the dice' to see which six places to camp at, then continue this idea to see what and where we end up at, my son thinks this is such fun...so do we, so your program has inspired us all, so thanks. I hope that you continue with new series of the show, maybe the BBC or C4 could air your work...why not. Take care and regards to you bothand to the production staff, for making such a fun and interesting program. Cheers
Karl Howard

Wow !
I love this show. Is great. I hope you're shooting next series now.
Greets from Poland !!!

I think you should go to the bbc with this programme.I really like watching it and it inspired me to go traveling backpacking around scotland and australia. I`d love to travel all the time exploreing places like Russell and Shaun have done on their travels. All the best

Pawel in Poland

Hi Yooos two
I have to say me and the kids are addicted to the show! We live in view of the Bristol channel so the crossing you did by boat from Bristol to South Wales was a treat for us....not for you though lol As for the best show? far too many to choose from, best Russell bit?..without doubt the absailing in the channel Islands..took guts to even face a fear the way you did Russell and you didn't edit the scene out....that should be worth a new series on it's own mate!!!! Best Shaun bit? every show Russell, every show. What a team!
Mart (and kids) From Clevedon UK

me and my husband just love your programms.please, please give us more. we watches you in sweden and we got so many good ideas from you. the next hollidays we will do just like you, but just filming for fun. with love and hugs
from anita and joul

My daughter and I are avid viewers, but it really makes us cringe when Russell uses the word "I" when most of the time it should be "me"; e.g. "Shaun and I are off to the hotel" is correct, but "come with Shaun and I to the hotel" is totally wrong!!!!!!! Don't you have any advisers on the show to stop him making such a gaff?????? Regards,
Sheilagh Kennedy Stones,

Well,
i don't actually have any ideas, except, DON'T come to Mozambique, where i live. I just wanted to know if the labyrinth place that was visited in the UK was The Forbidden Corner? I couldn't find anywhere else on the site to send a query. Oh, great show, by the way. Watching re-runs on Discovery.
Vicky
(originally from Scotland but now living in northern Mozambique)

I'd miss any other programme to watch Diceman. Its interesting, funny and compulsive viewing. Its gotta come back. Its criminal we have to wait so long.

Fantastic T.V. Lets all bombard discovery with our wishes to have another show. Best of luck

Russell / Shaun,
Just to let you know that your show is superb. Only problem is my 2 year old daughter Laura is a diceman-fan, she tries to stay awake until 9:30 PM every night waiting of your show coming on the telly. Believe it or not - She asked me to find you on the computer so she could see some pictures ! Hope you get another series going soon.
Michael & Laura Snape

dear russell and shaun
i am 10 years old and i live in maidenhead berkshire all of my family watch the diceman. we think it is the best travel series we have ever seen. please keep up the good work.best regards too you both
from emma

What can I say? My partner and I absolutely love The Diceman and can't wait for another series. We are glued to it and it has inspired us to buy a one month European train ticket and go travelling! More please - soon.
Love Jackie from Tooting

I've been a fan of your show for 4 years now and have replicated it with 2 friends twice now. We asked a waitress in a coffee bar back in 1999 to roll the dice having chosen 6 european destinations. In 2000 we did the same and spent a great weekend in the scottish highlands. I filmed our adventures and edited, produced and added a musical soundtrack to both films. (It took hours!) We haven't decided about next year as work and family commitments have dictated our plans.

I have been watching your show on and off since it started , and i'de just like to say what an absolutely superb prog it is , Russell you are such a refreshing change and your laidback style is brilliant to watch , the prog is so well put together , even when i have no time to watch ,once you've started watching ,you have to see it till the end , i hope the show goes on for along time yet. Where you get your energy from i don't know ,but i'de like some please!!. I'm a BIG! fan of your show and if only there was more show's like this ,with presenters like Russell and Shaun , ROLL ON THE DICEMAN!!!!.
Steve

I think that the program is fantastic, simply because it makes travelling look so much fun. I am only 16 and already have an ambition to do something similar later in my life. It would be a dream come true to actually be part of the program or something of that kind. So maybe one day I will try a dice rolling holiday.
Jerilyn Lowry, Surrey, UK

My wife, daughter and I love the show. My daughter Katarina is two and everyday she eagerly awaited an episode of Diceman. Now that it is off the screens in Australia she stands in front of the TV wanting to watch. We would love to see another series from what we believe to be the most refreshing travel show on the air.
Michael, Marianne and Katarina.

Great show and I hope you keeping making a lot more
Ian, North Shields

hi mate
Surely one of the main channels will take up this show. We are sick of seeing over paid actors in the tropics! We want it real, you are the most natural genuine guy I have seen on T.V. Im no expert but I just read the web page, show them that Russell, you are head and shoulders above the tat thats on T.V now. By the way! The best bit for me was you trying to pick up girls for a meal in the USA! Class! Also love the first ever one when you got picked up! You asked the girl if she had a nice bunch of coconuts! Dont know how you get away with it! You are a skilled broadcaster and above all mate, you are genuine and honest. What you see is what you get. Please push the main channels for a new series. All the best Russell
Ben, N.Ireland

I really like your programe, i am now watching series four, my dad lets me stay up and watch it at 9.30 ! from
Faye Popplewell, Age 8 Essex, UK

I think I must have watched most of your programmes over the years and thoroughly enjoyed them. I love the format and would love to see more PLEASE. I've only just discovered your web site and that is just as enjoyable. Best Wishes to you both
Sue Loosely, New Malden Surrey

Dear Russell & Shaun
I've only just started watching your show on Discovery Home and Leisure at 7.00 am in the morning before I set off to work. I have to say it's the best thing on the box by miles; I caught it whilst I was flicking through the channels one morning and was hooked instantly. The powers that be should re-run it at prime time on a terrestrial channel to show those who missed out on it first time (including me) what an addictive programme it is. Anyway best wishes and here's hoping we see u on our screens again soon
Jude Pease (Mr)

Hi Shaun and rustle (I love that... webman)
EXCELLENT PROGRAM....every time it’s on I have to watch. Its compulsive viewing, even though iv seen every episode of every series...when’s the next one?
phil in scunthorpe

hello russell and shaun
just a note to tell you that i think that the show is brilliant and is just what I would like to do. My parents and family love the show as well and we even decide what we do on holiday by the dice thanks to your idea. when i watched the show where you were in yorkshire and went to Ripley and up to Grassington i was gutted to know that you were that close you were about 2 miles from my house. I keep my eyes out now for you and hope that you come into my local some day. keep the show going mate i love it
Paul harper,Hampsthwaite,Harrogate YORKSHIRE

Dear Russell and Shaun,
I really love your programmes and watch it every time it is on, I think you should do another series and we are all waiting for it, try and find another channel to take you on.

ANDY MIDDLEWICH CHESHIRE.

Your show was one of the things that I looked forward to watching during a very difficult time in my life. It helped me make it through the day. On top of that it gave me the incentive to move to Charleston SC after one of your shows to start over again. This was three years ago. Sorry to hear your show is not still on the air. It always had a nice way about it. Much better than that Canadian guy. Any way good luck to you guys. I am about to start up my own golf travel show myself at least try to get going. Have any tips would love to hear from you. Tell the discovery channel that your show was better than allot of those stupid shows now on the travel network that channel went to hell quick

Hi Guys,
You're my inspiration.....What a great programme, I love it!! I have taken a 2 year career break and intend to see as much of the world as I can and although I dont actually use a dice, alot of my decisions are based on chance. When its time to move on, I head for the bus/train station and buy a ticket for the next departure! I've had a fantastic time for the last 2 months, backpacking around Spain and next week Im heading to Northern and Eastern Europe for a month, but as for the New Year....who knows! I think the dice should decide that one! For the new series (there just has to be one!!!) if you need another member for the team, Im your girl!!! Im about to email Discovery to demand they get you back on the TV. I just wanted to say, i've seen so many of your shows, it's my favorite show on tv yet. You guys do such great work, i can't beleive their aren't more shows on!! Keep up the good work....
Andrée Lloyd x

Hello Russell & Shaun

Hello Russell and Shaun !!
A few weeks ago, I switched on the TV(Satellite), and found what a lovely English TV programme!! What a Lovely surprise! I've never ever known The Diceman before. Thanks God. Although it is a repeated broadcast, now I watch at YOU regularly, since then. I'm not sure when it will be over. Now you are in Dublin in our repeated programme, and today you are about to eh, where... to a kind of festival (maybe tomorrow). It has been almost 13 years since I visited England. At that time I did not have any chance to visit all over places in England. So I'm very happy that you show me the lovely places in Britain. I wish you & Shaun could come to Japan and travel around with Dice!! Thanks for the lovely programme and hope you will have been planning next series!
Love, Taeko I, Japan

Trevor, Bradford, Yorkshire

My Wife Hayley and I live in Horsham in Sussex (near Gatwick one of your venues). Your program repeats on Discovery are compulsive nightly viewing. I would just like to say thanks for an enjoyable program, which never ceases to amuse, its great fly on the wall television, coupled with a unique idea. We are both looking forward to a new series and hope you soon find a sponsor. Hayley can't wait to see more of Shaun especially as she shares an interest in fast bikes, although she does not get a ride on mine since I had a 70+ get off two years ago. She says if he ever needs a pillion passenger she would be more than happy to oblige. Again very many thanks to both of you.
Colin (J)

Hi guys,
The wife and I have only just found your shows on Discovery – we’ve watched two and we’re hooked already! It’s a real shame that a fifth series has not (yet) been commissioned. We have a question that perhaps you’ll be kind enough to answer – cast your mind back to your nocturnal magma trek in Hawaii. When you returned to the car what where your two guides doing bare-chested??!!?? You were freezing cold and they were half undressed………the mind boggles. Anyway, we’ll hound Discovery until they commission a new series and try to think of some great new ideas for Little Planet Pictures. Best wishes
Alan & Monika, Wirral, Cheshire

Who needs Ant & dec ? , this is what they really want on Saturday primetime. The best programme since Interceptor, no it's true. You must get another series.
Bob, Banbury.

Hello Chaps (I loathe "Hi Guys" - Ugh)
I have just been reading your testemonial e-mails. All these people and me as well wanting the boneheads in charge to give you another series, and then another and then..... but so far they won't. Whatever happened to giving the customers what they want? I keep watching the repeats, after all one of these times the dice may come up different. Hope you make it to Somerset one of these days.
Clarence Williams.

Russell and Shaun
My family and I watch your show on Discovery, we all think it is fantastic and we often watch repeated shows many times. Hope you have some luck with sponsorship, if you are ever up on the Costa Del Wirral, please drop in to us at West Kirby, we would love to see you.
Best Wishes Ken, Sue & Jennifer Morris

Just wanted to say thanks for all the great entertainment. We think the show was one of the most entertaining we have ever seen. We keep dice in both cars, house and in my backpack for my motocycle days. I hope this is one more email that will help motive a new series of "The Dice Man". I wonder what's for dinner? Guess I'll roll the dice. Thanx.

We love yor show and are very emvious of all the chances you have of travelling around the world and meeting interesting people. Whilst we have watched the majority of your shows, we find the repeats just as interesting as the first time we have seen them. I had a spell off work last year and looked forward to seeing your programme every day. I even tried to book my interviews around the time you were on. Keep up the good work, look after shaun. Happy travels

Hello Boys!
The e-mail I sent two months ago is NOT on your fan site. What is going on??? Did I offend by saying that Russell is very easy on the eye!!! If so…I’m sorry…but he IS very easy on the eye!!! Your programme is extremely professional, informative and humorous. Get off your butts and sell yourselves to the Beeb or something. You deserve to make your fortunes from this show! Moira Hine. Watford, England. I just love "The Diceman"! Best wishes and good luck!
Malgosia, Warsaw

Dear Shaun and Russell
Like most of your Aussie viewers I have discovered your brilliant series on the lifestyle channel. I was sad to learn that there are no new episodes coming our way, as like alot of your Ausralian fans I thought this would be the perfect country to begin a new journey. I hope you get funding for another series soon, so that we can be given the treat of an exciting trip from the comfort of our homes. All the best
Leanne, Melbourne Australia

Dear Russell and Shaun,
Thank you for your terrific programs. When I first started watching them, I thought that the concept was one of the most innovative ones I've ever seen on tv and I've not changed my mind since. I think it shows an awful lack of judgement on behalf of the Discovery channel not to support a further series and, presuming you've tried other broadcasters, a sad indication of where tv companies think they should put their money (Big Brother anybody?). In the summer of 99 my brother and I did a sort of Diceman holiday in the NE USA. I say sort of because we knew we had to be in Richmond for the middle weekend of the trip, but we went all over in the end - starting in New York, going up past Boston, into Canada, through Toronto, down through New York State and Pennsylvania and into Virginia, then north to Washington, Atlantic City and back to New York. Fantastic. And the people were amazing, especially in small towns in rural Pennsylvania and Virginia, where the thought that two Brits would be interested in their country let alone their areas took some people by surprise. Getting off the beaten track and letting the road atlas and locals' suggestions be our guide resulted in probably the best holiday I've ever had. Thanks for the inspiration, and good luck in getting funding for a new series.
Paul Harcombe, Wallasey, England.

Hi
my name is Joseph and i just want to say that i really like the show and the way the dice tells you what to do and where to go. Please make a new show!!!!!
AORTA

Dear Russell and shaun
I think your show is great. I think the idea of throwing a dice to show U where to go is cool. My name is Scott, but friends like to call me' Metalman '. I watch your show whenever I can, I look at the clock and thick ' Yes , The Dicman is on in a minute, and it makes me happy. Do you remeber when you went to a place called ' Fort Augustus, in Scotland, I Iive near to there. Well that is all I have to said, just keep making ' The Diceman ' and U will alway have me turning on the TV watching the show, which is truly ' travel with a twist '.
Scott Barclay, Inverness, Scotland

Hi Russell and Shaun,
We only recently obtained "Sky" TV and therefore are newcomers to the "Diceman" series but it has become compulsive viewing in our house, imagine - therefore - our horror to discover it has been three years since the last one was made and no plans for a new series as yet !! what............I say WHAT is that all about ???!!! Are 'Discovery' suffering from terminal myopia ?? The programme is immense, just good, clean, wholesome and wholly unpredictable fun and interesting to boot. We are such fans we are even including such catchphrases as "...what do you think, Shaun??..." and "...it's all up to the dice...." in our daily dialogue !! ( sad...but true...we lead simple lives !! ) Only one criticism - why did you cheat ( you rogues ) and avoid going to Norwich ? The dice told you that's where you were to go and yet you said you "....had a bad feeling about it..." and chose to roll the dice again, on the train, thus going to Bury St. Edmunds instead. Get real !!! Norwich is the fair capital of Norfolk and has loads to offer in and around the area, come and see us and we will keep you occupied for a week !! Otherwise ..........our whole-hearted support in the quest to get another series off the ground, can't wait !! Best wishes,
Ann Jewson

Hi Russell & Shaun,
I've been watching your show for a few years now and can honestly say that I never get tired of watching each episode, you guys are living the life (albeit only on the tv) that many of us only wish we could experience. Even my Kids (Daniel 9 & Sarah 7) love watching the diceman programme and prefer it over cartoon network any day and when we go anywhere on holiday we always try to come up with six options for things to do and have been known to roll our very own dice (living the dream - in our own way). If you're ever short of ideas for places to go, then get yourselves up to Darlington in County Durham sometime 'cos there's loads of different options for you both to do. I definately think that the show needs a third crew member though, so put my name on the list (must be a long one!). Keep on rolling that dice & best wishes for a fifth series.
Mark Burley

Dear dicemen Russell and Shaun,
My boyfriend and I along with the whole of his family are huge fans of your show,(I know if my family had sky they would be too!) Our admiration of what you do has affected our lives, a recent birthday present to my boyfriends dad was a box of dice! And it is not unknown for us to roll the dice to decide the days activities! However our favourite pastime is watching your show and we need to know when you are making a new series, there is no ifs about it! We have seen all of your past shows and though still enjoyable watching the repeats is not quite as exciting. Waiting in anticipation,
Mia Zanobini and the Littletons

Dear Russell & Shaun,
I have been an avid fan of the show since I first saw it last christmas while on a visit to Edinburgh. I have once again been a regular viewer since I have been back in Edinburgh and must congratulate you both on a really entertaining & educational show, the whole concept is just fab. I have been here for the past 2 months but sadly my time is just about up & I will be returning to Melbourne Australia in 2 weeks time. Have you considered doing a series in Australia? Your US series was really worth while & must have been a real adventure. Anyway, keep up the great work & I hope you both make it to Australia in the future. P.S. If you need a guide in Melbourne please don't hesitate to give me a yell. Cheers,
Paul Allen, Melbourne Australia.

Dear Russel and Shaun,
well what can I say, since recently becoming a one parent family(my daughter Kirsty is 9) I have been watching quite a lot of TV lately while waiting for the washing machine to finish it's program. As a result of this I discovered your terrific series "The Diceman",and I must Say it's one of the most enjoyable shows I've seev in a long while. If your ever in sunny Clacton-on-Sea,please drop us an E-mail and I'm sure we could sort out some grub and a couple of mug's of tea.I do hope they commision you both for another series ,I think it's a great show, all the very best to you yours sincerely,
Hugh Elvin,Sunny Clacton -on –Sea

Hi Russell & Shaun,
Just thought you might be interested in the following reply from The Discovery Channel. Great show, BTW - perhaps you could create a newsletter option on the website to keep fans up to date in developments. Cheers,
Sean, Leeds

Dear Sean
Thank you very much for your recent email to Discovery Networks Europe. It's great to hear you enjoy The Diceman on our channel. You may be interested to know 4 Series (only) were made by Little Planet Pictures between 1997 and 1999. At the time of writing, we have no news of a new series being made or planned for future transmission. Sorry for any disappointment. Visit www.diceman.co.uk for the latest news about the show. We thank you for your interest in Discovery and hope that you continue to enjoy watching our channels.
Kind Regards Discovery Networks Europe Viewer Relations Team

Hi Russel and Shaun!
The Diceman is the best program on Discovery Travel & Adventure. But I live in Poland and that's what is saying Shaun is not so good translated. But it's still the best program. I learn english in school and I think, that's english is a difficult language. I hope, that once comes a day, which i come to England and I can acquaint You personally. In the future (about in next 3 month's) I will make a Polish Fan Page of Your program. Once again - sorry for my english. When You come to Poland once again, come to Rybnik (Southern Poland). That's not so big town, but it's many to see here (for example - ME! :D )
Greatings from Poland!!! (Rybnik)!!!

For all the traveling that you have done and all the footage that you show. Its great to see something different on traveling all over Europe and the U.S.A. Keep it up and comeback with some new travels soon.

To Russell & Shaun,
My wife and I have only recently started watching you both via the repeats on the Travel/Adventure and Home/Leisure channels. What more can we say that hasn't already been said - Terrific TV!! What better inspiration to go out and see parts of Britain and the rest of the world than in the funny and easy going way that you do. We sincerely hope that "the powers that be" recognise what good TV is and get you rolling that dice very soon (I'm sure we can think of six things for you to do in Hertfordshire)!! All the best,
Andy & Debby Bluss, Welwyn Garden City, Herts

Russell and Shaun,
Just wanna say thanks for such a fantastic show. I love seeing places that I've been to.... shocked to see you guys in Lisdoonvarna, a place I visited on a University field-trip!! I must have seen each episode about 50 times each!! Time for a new series I think. Just watching the episode where you guys go on a pub crawl around Dublin - Russell you looked slaughtered by the end!! I'd love to see you guys go to Australia, a place I have just returned from. Odds you climb Ayers Rock, even u play it safe and walk around the base!! It would be fab!! Thanks again guys, I love the show, and I'll always associate it with my student days!! I wish you both good fortune and good health.... hope to see a new series sometime!!
Daniel, Plymouth.

Hello Russell & Shaun
We watch your travels almost every evening without fail. Even when we have seen where you are going many times it still seems new. Lets hope that Discovery Channel pull their finger out and set you two free again! We look forward to a new series. All the best.
The Taylor Family.

Hi Russ and Shaun
Just a quick e-mail to say we're waiting for the next series and we're watching you every night on channel 553. It's given us lots of top ideas as to where we should go on our hols. Keep up the most excellent work guys, you're great!
Jill, Kirkham

Dear Russell and Shaun,
Just thought I'd let you know I emailed Discovery asking for a new series of the diceman, It would be great to have the show come down under for an Aussie diceman series. I hope heaps of people get behind the show and email discovery. Take Care, And I wish you and your families well for the future. Bye,
Elaine McGeorge

G'Day Russell and Shaun,
Just a quick note from down under. I have previously emailed you wanting to know if the 4 diceman series are available on video or DVD yet. At the moment we have just finished the all 4 series on pay TV. I recently emailed our pay TV Lifestyle Channel and they said you may be doing a 5th series. Geez Russell please tell me you are.!!! If by chance you ever get down my way please feel free to stay at my place. I live in the state of Victoria with my wife and 2 teenage sons. I am only 1/2 hour drive from the best surf beaches in the world. So if you ever come out with either with Shaun or with your family for a holiday, please feel free to come and stay at my place. I would love to show all of you around Geelong and the Surf Coast. It would be a pleasure to meet you. Anyway Russ cheers for now and hope to hear from you soon P.S. Is there any chance of an autograph to put up in my bar next to my Alan Shearer signed photo. This family is Newcastle United mad and all balmy Cheers Mate
Bryan

Hi Russell & Shaun,
What a great program, always interesting. 30 minutes is no where near long enough. Tell the powers that be we want at least an hour long show. By the way, we use a dice on holidays now to decide what were going to do that day. Keep up the excellent work guys, Fantastic!! Best wishes to you both.
Darren (Cheshire)
